'Twas the Night Before Kindergarten!

It was wonderful meeting/seeing you and your sweet Kindergartners last night and this morning! Thank you to everyone for bringing in the Kindergarten supplies and paperwork! We are excited that the first day is finally here!  Tomorrow will be a whirlwind but  a lot of fun as we get to know each other and the new routines and rules of the class.

For tomorrow, please remember to have your child bring the following:
  • Kingswood bag - we love to see them decorated!
  • Lunch and water bottle
  • Super Folder - the clear, plastic folder you received last night - please make sure you've removed the contents (if you still have any paperwork to turn in please send in folder)
  • 2 spare changes of clothes to be kept at school for the fall (please label these with your child’s name please)
  • It's strongly encouraged that your child wear a mask and bring a spare mask (or 2) in his/her bag

Kindergarten Volunteer Signups:
We are hopeful that beginning in October we can have parents back in the classroom, participating with the class in various ways! However, please be aware that this could change due to COVID. Below are links to several Parent Volunteer opportunities. Please sign up for no more than 1 slot per signup. We will have more opportunities throughout the year. Thank you to the awesome moms who have volunteered to be this year's Kindergarten Room Parents - Jill Desing (Lyla's mom), Jessica Ferreyra (Dax's mom), and Jennifer Rosenthal (Walker's mom). We are so grateful to you!

Other Ways to Help:

Thank you for your support and for volunteering your time to help make this a successful school year!

Please feel free to contact us with last minute questions. We hope everyone has a good night before Kindergarten!

Welcome to Kindergarten!

Welcome to KINDERGARTEN!! Mrs. Lori and I are so excited to teach your Kindergartners this school year! Your kids are going to "rule the school" and will learn and grow leaps and bounds over the next 9 months. Because of how much they will soar this year, they are our "Kindergarten Superheroes in Training!"

So much happens in Kindergarten! Because of this and all that is going on in the world around us right now, parents as well as children may have some apprehensions about what will happen. It is extremely important to keep in mind that we all build on small successes. Each child will progress at his/her own rate, acquiring skills as he/she is developmentally ready. Maintaining each child's self-esteem and building a secure foundation for future growth will always remain a priority in our class. Here are some ways you can help:

  • Celebrate your child's successes - no matter how small it may seem. This will keep your child enthusiastic about learning and proud of his/her work!

  • Look at your child’s Super Folder each and every Friday (this is YOUR homework, parents).

  • Read to and with your child everyday, if possible. The more your child is exposed to language, the easier it will be for him/her to incorporate new skills in reading and writing in the classroom.

As we countdown to the first day of school, please read the information below regarding upcoming dates, reminders, and supplies. Please note the change of time Meet the Teacher

The Facebook group is a great place to set up class park play dates and connect with the other parents in the class too.

Please know that I'm here if you have any questions or concerns. If something isn't working for your child, I'm willing to work with you and him/her to find a reasonable solution. This is going to be such a BIG, fun adventure this year for your child, and I'm excited to be a part of it. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns throughout the school year! I am here to help your child any way I can. Thank you in advance for your support this year as we work together to help your child learn and grow this school year!
